Delta Technical College (DTC) is proud to present the WJMI 99 Jams Athlete of the Week for the 2024-2025 season!
Each week, a Jackson, MS metro-area high school student athlete will be nominated as the Athlete of the Week based on their overall athletic performance.
At the end of the season (May 2025) a drawing would be held from all weekly winners. A cash prize would be donated to their high school from Delta Technical College and WJMI.
Congratulations to the 2024-2025 Athlete of the Week Winners!
- Week 1: Carson Caraway, Jackson Academy. Had 22 kills, 12 digs, 1 ace, and 1 block in the Lady Raiders 3-1 win over Ocean Springs.
- Week 2: Foster Meacham, LB, Jackson Academy. Had 11 tackles, an interception, and a pass break up in the Raiders 31-23 win over Leake Academy.
- Week 3: Glen Singleton, RB, Madison Central. Had 18 rushes for 174 yards with four touchdowns in the Jaguars 27-20 win over Ocean Springs.
- Week 4: Ronde Baker, RB, Terry. Had 12 carries for 171 yards and four touchdowns in the Bulldogs 57-6 win over Pure Academy (Tenn.)
- Week 5: Josef Walker, QB, Clinton. Went 23-of-38 passing for 387 yards with three touchdowns, had 14 rushes for 34 yards and added a 10-yard touchdown reception in the Arrows 65-62 win over Brandon.
- Week 6: Ronde Baker, RB, Terry. Had 15 carries for 178 yards and four touchdowns in the Bulldogs 43-0 win over Provine.
- Week 7: Quincy Phillips, Wide Receiver, Brandon: Caught eight passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns in the Bulldogs 42-14 win over Meridian.
- Week 8: Kayne Ashley, QB, Florence: Went 5-of-7 passing for 156 yards with three touchdowns in the Eagles 35-0 win over Provine.
- Week 9: Caleb Gaitor, Jackson Academy: Had 17 points, three steals, three assists, and a rebound in the Raiders 71-41 win over Callaway.
