How will online learning work for hands-on training?

While we know that we cannot replace all the hands-on training you receive at the campus, we are working in conjunction with the publishers of several programs’ textbooks to offer an interactive online environment for each program.Through online learning, DTC students will complete much of the classroom theory portion of their program. Then, when students can safely return to campus, their hands-on training in our labs will begin!

What if I do not have access to a computer or internet at home to use the online learning platform?

Your instructor will be reaching out to you individually to prepare you for the online learning platform. The online learning platform is accessible via smart phone, laptop, tablet, or desktop computer. Several internet providers, including Spectrum and Comcast, are offering free internet access during this time, which may be an option for you. For more information, visit the Spectrum or Comcast website. We do understand that there will be varying situations regarding your access to the online platform, and our team will be here to assist you on an individual basis. If you have any concerns about your access to the online learning platform, please let your instructor know. I’m a current student, does this mean I will not graduate my program on time?

DTC staff is working to ensure that current DTC students who are close to graduation are work force ready as soon as possible. The class cancellation from March 16th-March 27th was considered Spring Break and replaced the regularly scheduled Summer Break that is typically observed in late June. Due to this, some current students’ graduation dates will not be impacted. However, graduation dates for some students may change, and any changes in graduation dates will be communicated to students by their instructor, Director of Education, or Campus President.

I have an appointment to meet an Admissions Rep on campus, do I need to reschedule?

No, you do not need to reschedule your appointment. During this time, DTC is offering virtual (phone and/or video) appointments. If you currently have an appointment scheduled with an DTC Admissions or Financial Aid Representative, DTC will be in contact with next steps.
