The mrWF/DeltaTech Scholarship was established in 2013 as a partnership between the mikeroweWORKS Foundation and Delta Technical College to provide graduating high school seniors with the workforce training necessary to succeed in today’s mechanical trades and allied health industries.
The scholarship program awarded a 100 percent tuition-paid scholarship to seven students at each of DeltaTech’s campus locations, including those in Horn Lake and Ridgeland, MS.
To be eligible for the program, students were required to submit an essay and video explaining their desire to be chosen for the scholarship. Those selected as campus finalists had their videos posted to our website for a period of public voting to select the winners.
In its initial year, the scholarship program attracted more than 1,400 registered participants, with 269 of those participants named as finalists.
Forty-nine students were chosen as winners of the 2013-2014 scholarship, totaling more than $800,000 in scholarship funds to provide today’s young people with the skills and training to secure meaningful employment and help close the skills gap in a number of vocational career fields.
The mikeroweWORKS Foundation and Delta Technical College want to thank all those students who participated in the 2013-2014 mrWF/DeltaTech Scholarship Program for their hard work and dedication.
The 2015-2016 mrWF/DeltaTech Scholarship will open to submissions Sept. 14. Click the ‘Registration’ for more information on submitting your application.
